Join us April 16th-19th of 2020 for a three day hoop & wellness retreat at a peaceful secluded venue in Jasper, Arkansas in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. During this retreat we will be deepening our hoop practice, renewing our minds, and nourishing our bodies within an intimate, supportive and relaxing environment. We will all be sharing a big spacious lodge to sleep, eat, hoop, connect and grow within.
This retreat will be offering a variety of hoop workshops for all skill levels led by a group of uplifting and skilled instructors. All meals are included and catered to offer a yummy assortment of nourishing vegan and non-vegan options. There will also be morning restorative yoga classes, waterfall hoop adventures, fire hooping, exploring, guided mindful meditations, down time, flow jams, sound bowl healing, a painting class, massages, and more!
Our secluded venue is surrounded by the beauty of wooded nature and big grassy areas with a bonfire area, hammocks, and lots of shade for lounging or hooping. All classes will be held outdoors offering us the opportunity to connect with the healing and calming properties of nature while we are harnessing our creativity, building soulful friendships and going deeper within our sacred circles.
We are SO excited to share this magical experience with you and bring together an empowering group of like-minded beautiful souls who share a passion for hooping and overall wellness.
With this being a small intimate retreat, where instructors can offer more individual attention, space is limited to 35-ish people so don't wait to reserve your spot!
Meet Your Hoop Instructors
Michele has been on her hoop journey for six years and is well known in the hooping community for her positive and inspirational instruction as well as her unique hoop tricks. She is passionate about using her hoop as a tool to encourage fellow flow artists in realizing their creative potential and to go farther into their flow. While here at the retreat Michele will be teaching a variety of classes that are suitable for all skill levels- breaking down many of her original transitions and combos as well as helping you get in touch with deeper flow through mindful movement exercises.
Katie Sunshine was first inspired to pick up hula hoop in 2008 after seeing a girl at a music festival dance with her hoop. What started as a hobby turned professional when one of Katie's YouTube videos went viral in 2012.
Since then, she's racked up over 17 million YouTube views and has performed across the country and world. But what Katie loves as much as hooping is teaching.
With a background in elementary art education she loves working with beginner hoopers of all ages as well as advanced hoopers looking to get back to the basics with their hoop dance.
Kendall has been working with the hoop for 7 years and is passionate about sharing hoop dance as a path of connection to the innate wisdom of the body. The understandings of body mechanics that she has gained through yoga allow her to offer powerful alignment cues to help ensure you are feeling your best when inside your hoop.
Overall, she views movement as a mighty tool for personal empowerment. In addition to teaching, Kendall is a seasoned performance artist, specializing in Circus Style Multi-Hoop and Sacred Geometry inspired movement.
Anna started hooping in January 2014 and from the first spin she became obsessed. Hooping has helped her overcome depression and strengthen her body and mind.
She is grateful to have had the experience of performing at festivals such as Hulaween, Hoop Camp, and being a part of the Electric Forest Hoop Troupe.
Her knowledge of hooping has developed greatly over the years in her hoop journey from her participation in various hoop workshops sponsored locally and across the US. These training experiences paired with her love for hooping have inspired her to become a Hoop Love Coach. She is excited to apply what she has learned from her training and embark on her new journey as a hooping instructor. Anna hopes that you will leave her classes feeling inspired, eager to incorporate new moves, but most importantly that you had so much FUN!
Jacqueline completed her Yoga Teacher Training through Shambava Yoga School in Denver, CO.
Along her many journeys she was introduced to bodywork when she signed up for a Thai Yoga Massage massage course at the Suai Thai Massage School in Phuket, Thailand.
She was also educated in massage therapy at Lauterstein-Conway in Austin, TX. Her current Massage Therapy healing practices consist of Reiki, CranioSacral, Integrative Massage, and others.
Most recently she has been exploring sound therapy with the application of Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls and now offers healing sessions for groups to relax and restore their minds and bodies through their healing vibrations.
