Hey Hoopers!

My name is Kire Montgomery and hooping is something I truly love. Since I was four years old, I have been playing soccer, running track, and cross country! Although I enjoyed these sports, I didn’t LOVE them. After 14 years, I eventually quit these activities and decided to try something new. Not exactly sure what I was looking for, but I was searching for a hobby. One day, I was watching YouTube videos and I kept seeing a video in the suggestion area labeled “Hoopography.” I kept skipping over the video, but yet it kept coming up in my suggestion area! So I finally decided to just watch it. I watched it and was AMAZED. My jaw dropped and I was in complete awe! I ended up watching tons of videos of hula hoop artists and I seriously thought it was the most beautiful and coolest thing I have ever seen. I badly wanted to try it, but I kept telling myself, “No, you can’t do that. You aren’t talented enough to do that.” A couple months pass and I couldn’t stop thinking about those hooping videos, so I ignored my negative thoughts and bought a hoop. I fell in love with it! I would spend HOURS everyday practicing and practicing until I perfected a move. I practiced so much in fact that my arms became so sore, I had to stick them in the freezer to try to relieve the pain! It’s so funny to think about that now. Then a couple months later, I had the courage to post my first hooping video on instagram and that opened up a huge door for me. I was introduced to the hooping community, which is the most welcoming, supportive, talented, and kind community. I was growing within my hoop. Hooping has made me more confident in myself and generally made me a happier person! It opened up the door for me to try new things and go to new places. Most importantly, it gave me the opportunity to be apart of an amazing team and be apart of a group of talented ladies! If you asked me a couple years ago if I would be a hooper, let alone sponsored by an amazing hoop company, I would have laughed and said, “Yeah right!” One thing my hoop has taught me is to do what you love and do whatever makes you happy! If there was one thing I was born to do, it is definitely hooping. Enjoy your journey hoopers!
